Purpose:

Here We Stand Confirmation

Through study, reflection and service, the Confirmation Ministry Program of Apostles Lutheran Church intentionally seeks to encourage our youth to be disciples for Christ by nurturing a closer, more meaningful and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which will ultimately equip them to make disciples for Christ.

Duration:
The Lutheran Handbook Two years, usually beginning at 7th grade; each year includes two terms, fall and spring, consisting of two classes per week meeting on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings

1st & 2nd year students study together as one class  over a 2 year period.

Catechism & Bible Study:

Year A:  10 Commandments and the Lord’s Prayer on Wednesday evenings.  Old Testament on Sunday mornings.

Year B:  Apostles Creed and Sacraments on Wednesday evenings.  New Testament on Sunday mornings.

In addition to the weekly classes, students are encouraged to grow in faith through service to others and regular attendance at worship.

Mentors:

Recognizing the importance of faith development for our young people during their Confirmation years, a Mentor Program is part of our Confirmation Program.  The special relationship that develops between mentors and youth can be a great influence in nurturing faith maturity.
